Oliver Davis studied composition at the Royal Academy of Music. On graduating he scored his first feature film and has since worked with numerous artists including choreographer Erico Montes with whom he wrote ‘Within the Hours’ for the Royal Ballet to critical acclaim last year. In 2012 he wrote his first violin concerto ‘Lost Lake’ for violinist Jonathan Hill. Recent works include violin sonata ‘3 days in November’ for Young Musician of the Year string finalist Cristian Desa – premiered in June at St Martin in the Fields. Recently completed works include ‘Flight’ – Concerto for Violin and Strings – written for Kerenza Peacock. ‘Flight’ will be premiered by Kerenza and the Trafalgar Sinfonia in November this year.
Oliver was commissioned by SMF to write a new piece called ‘Scenes from the Solent’ for Sam Haywood’s recital ‘Composers in Love‘.
