A huge thank you to everyone who submitted entries A huge thank you to everyone who submitted entries to the 2026 Lawson-May Award for Composition. It was a huge pleasure and privilege to listen to them all - really inspiring. Many congratulations to our winners Dario Argentesi and Thomas Haupt and to our finalists! The world premiere of Dario's The Sad Snake will be given at the Solent Music Festival on Tuesday 26 May at 11am in our Family Concert and at 7 in our evening concert 'Sam and Friends' Details of the 2027 award will be published shortly.

His programme will include Farrington's Voices of the World which he performed at the Coronation, and also Widor's Toccata and Vaughan-Williams English Folk Song Suite.
