Saturday 13 September, 1.15pm, St Thomas Church, Lymington

Ashley Davies and Katherine Spencer are a dynamic team who have worked together for over 15 years presenting education programmes, in particular for the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.

The workshop, lasting ninety minutes, is part of the festival’s continuing commitment to inspiring young people to become involved with music. It will cater for a wide range of ages, from babes-in-arms to teens.

There will be interactive games and fun activities, in which the participants will paint inspired by the music, involving themes of colour, mood and rhythms.

Towards the end of the session the tables will be turned and the musician is put on the spot: participants will be invited to individually hold up their paintings and Katherine will improvise a piece of music in response to each new artwork.

Absolutely fantastic. Very novel ideas for children. Our child was entranced by the music and will never forget it!

What a wonderful way to spend a morning, Cultural, educational and inspirational.
